Wooden mobiles: the first object they truly look at

A newborn sees clearly at about thirty centimeters and spends most of their time on their back. The mobile is, quite literally, their only show. That is why it matters more than any other room decoration.

🌲 Wooden themes

Five wooden crib mobiles, one for each universe: forest, ocean, sky, wild animals, and Christmas. Light wood and hanging elements, without electronics. The felt ocean-style baby mobile and the forest animal mobile focus on soft textiles.

🎵 Musical or silent

The wooden forest-themed musical mobile and the natural wooden baby musical mobile add a melody to the movement. The others remain silent and turn with the room's air. Neither is better: the musical one aids sleep, while the silent one maintains calm.

🪝 The stand

The wooden mobile stand attaches without drilling, avoiding the need to hang it from the ceiling or screw it into a bed. It also allows you to move the mobile from one room to another depending on the time of day.

How to install it

1. At thirty centimeters, no higher

Too high, and it is blurry and the baby cannot see it. A mobile placed outside their clear vision distance only serves to decorate the room for adults.

2. Out of reach, always

It is meant for looking at, not grabbing. As soon as the baby pushes up on their arms and reaches out for it, the mobile should be removed: this is usually around five months.

3. Not above the face

Shift it slightly, preferably towards the feet or to the side. An object suspended directly above the face is neither comfortable to look at nor recommended.

Tip: when they grow too old for it, don't put it away. Hung on a wall, above a dresser or a reading corner, the same mobile can stay in the bedroom for years.

Frequently Asked Questions

🎵 Musical or non-musical?

It is a question of routine, not quality. If you want an auditory cue associated with bedtime, choose the musical one. If the room is already noisy or if your baby falls asleep better in silence, the silent version is more than enough.

📏 At what height should it be hung?

About thirty centimeters above the chest, shifted towards the feet. This is the distance at which a newborn can see clearly and the position that prevents straining their neck.

⏳ How long is it useful?

For the first five months or so, until they start trying to grab it. It is a short period, but it is the time when they have almost nothing else to look at.
