Nursery and sleep: what you see from the crib

A baby spends half their day in this room, and they view it from below. It is this perspective that dictates what we put in it: what moves slowly overhead, what provides just enough light, and what definitely should not be left in the crib.

🌙 What helps with falling asleep

A nightlight isn't meant to illuminate, but to reassure without waking. Leon the sheep nightlight, rabbit nightlight, turtle nightlight, LED pear nightlight, nightlight and star projector, or a personalized name nightlight. A music box takes over for bedtime rituals.

🎐 What moves overhead

A mobile occupies the only field of vision for a reclining infant. Montessori mobile, safari mobile, and wooden crib mobiles available in five themes: forest, ocean, sky, wild animals, Christmas. To be hung out of reach and removed as soon as they start pulling themselves up.

🛏️ Around the crib

Braided crib bumpers in various colors, three-strand braid, swaddle blankets, swaddling sleeping bags, portable baby nests, mosquito nets, foldable playpens. These are elements to be chosen based on exact age, not just decor.

Furnishing without cluttering

1. Nothing in the crib before the recommended age

Official recommendations for infant sleep are clear and constantly evolving: check with your pediatrician or public health websites before adding anything to a baby's crib.

2. A mobile has an expiration date

It should be removed when a baby starts pushing up on their arms and reaching out. It is not a permanent decoration; it is an object for a short phase, approximately the first five months.

3. The lowest light possible

A nightlight that is too bright keeps a baby awake. Look for one that is enough to walk through the room without bumping into things, not one that is bright enough to read by.

Important: crib bumpers, pillows, swaddle blankets, and any textile items in a baby's crib are subject to specific safety recommendations based on age. Read the usage instructions on each product page and follow the advice of your healthcare professional.

Frequently asked questions

🎐 How long should you keep a mobile?

Until the baby starts sitting up and trying to grab it, usually around five months. Beyond this stage, it becomes reachable, so it must be removed. Many parents then reinstall it as wall decor, away from the crib.

💡 Is a nightlight really necessary?

Not for an infant, who does not fear the dark. It becomes useful later, around two or three years old, when fear of the dark appears, and especially for parents during night-time wake-ups.

🧺 How do I care for room textiles?

Washing instructions are on each product page and vary depending on the material. Braided bumpers and crib liners can be washed, but electronic nightlights should only be cleaned on the surface with a dry cloth.
